My finished Zaku Mobile Suit. Took one month to build from scratch. Materials made of craft foam, painted with beige elastomeric paint base and regular latex thalo green mixed with beige then overall sprayed a thin surface layer with spray paint Black Board green.

The gun was a solid 2 inch sheet of scrap styrofoam.

Wore it at Cosplay Mania X in SMX convention center in Pasay City, Manila, Philippines.

Nice, I'm looking to make a Zaku from War in a pocket. If my suit turns out half as nice as your I'll be happy.

I'm going to make a zaku cosplay too, I have a whole year and a half to make it so I want to make it decently. My main body will be held with trouser harnesses and a belt. Do you have any tips on materials and making the shapes for the body? Also wondering if your mono-eye can move independantly from the head, if you can could you tell me how?

Forgot to include the link to our video. This might help you see how the eye moved, if you decide to apply the same technique i did.

Not really sure if i can help you with the materials, since i use 3mm rubber sheets (or craft foam) and i hear that in Canada its a pretty hard material to come by. However you can use corrugated cardboard as material, or for long term use, flat plastic sheets.

But in the event you do have an ample supply of rubber sheets, you may use this tutorial i made to make the zaku helmet base: [link]

As for the details on the costume itself, check out my multiply site: [link]

Album of the finished product here: [link]

Hope this helps. Good luck on your project! :D
