Bubbles searches for Ace and the Gangrene Gang, whom she thought could help her retrieve back her sister (since she is fully aware of Ace's soft spot for Buttercup) but instead discover that the Gangrene gang is no more.

Instead the gang has a new leader, or perhaps, two.

Bubbles learned that Ace has disappeared ever since Mayor Bradley's Tough Cops wrought a sting operation against them, cutting their number in half and been in hiding ever since. But later there were again brought together by the most unlikely couple: Princess Morbucks and Dexter the Boy Genius!

Dexter was driven into hiding when his town adopted the Tough Cops program, which started when his own fight against his rival Mandark resulted in turning half the town into a smoldering crater -- as well as the unfortunate desintegration of his sister Dee Dee and his family.

Princess Morbucks, or simply Princess, finally was able to grab hold of a sample of Chemical-X which gave her powers equal to the Powerpuff girls in their prime, but resulted to her family fortune's bankruptcy after the government found out about the illegal acquisition of the chemical reserved only for law enforcement and froze their assets. She ran away and would have turned into a desperate criminal if not found by Dexter and brought to his own secret laboratory hideout along with whats left of the Gangrene Gang. She has been second in command ever since.

It is rumored that she is sharing an intimate love/hate relationship with Dexter.

They agree to help Bubbles retrieve Buttercup and Butch in the pretense that they could recruit the valuable Rowdy Rough Boy into their gang, but in truth it was more because of Bubble's similarity to Dee Dee, whom Dexter misses terribly.

However, they were infiltrated by Mondo-bots led by the super strong Rowdy Rough Boy Boomer. Brick has anticipated Bubble's plan and sent scouts to trail her to Dexter's hideout.
