My, My, Manananggal

My Halloween kiriban prize for for winning the 750 hits.

This is an artwork of a manananggal, a Philippine mythological creature who walks as a beautiful woman by day, and becomes a half-bat monster at night. The manananggal's upper half severes itself from the lower portion and flies to the nearest house in search of pregnant women or women having their menstrual cycle. It perches on the roof and looks for a hole when it will insert its thread-like tongue and use it to suck the blood from its victims. To defeat the creature, you have to find its lower half and sprinkle salt over the open wound. That will prevent it from attaching itself and become whole, and will soon die.

Sometimes they get raunchy and often looks for men walking alone in a dark path where they swoop down and grab the poor guy, rips him apart in mid-air, and eats his liver. Reminds me of a woman i used to date.
